Donors

The PEI programme hinges on our partnership key multilateral and bilateral donors.  This helps meet the challenge of scaled-up support to countries to achieve their environment mainstreaming needs through the mobilisation of important resources.  To date, the PEI has been supported by the European Commission and governments of Belgium, Denmark, Ireland, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.  Other development partners such as  the United States of America have recently provided additional financial support. The PEI also collaborates with a number of other bilateral and multilateral development partners such as AusAid and GIZ.

Development partners have provided considerable backing for PEI, both in terms of delivering on the PEP agenda and ‘Delivering as One’, supporting PEI’s joint UNDP-UNEP management approach.  They have also provided financial and technical support for example, through the Donor Steering Group and Technical Advisory Group.
