On 22 November 2012 in Dushanbe the training on Poverty-Environment (PE) mainstreaming into Mid-term Development Strategy (MTDS) for 2013-2015 was conducted for the representatives of several ministries and state agencies, including Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, Ministry of Finance, Committee of Environmental Protection, Ministry of Agriculture and other, who involved in the process of MTDS preparation. 32 representatives in total took active part at the event.

The aim of the workshop was do discuss the PE entry points in the process of MTDS preparation and exchange ideas on how this practice could be better implemented considering the country’s planning and budgeting processes. Participants proposed to have following-up trainings on this subject, which will be discussed while planning the next phase of the PEI project.

This event was organized by Poverty -Environment Initiative (PEI), established in 2010 under the auspices of UNDP and UN Environment to support the Government of Tajikistan in poverty reduction by means of enhancing the environmental situation.
